Coach/Manager Requirements
All Modified, JV and Varsity head coaches, assistant coaches and managers who are on the bench during a game must have a minimum LEVEL 1 (or higher) coaching certification as required by USA Hockey, AAU, and the League.
Coaches can check their status by going to https://lms.usahockeylearningcenter.com/learn/signin and clicking Member Login>Sign In>Coaches.
On bench personnel also need a current AAU Member ID. AAU membership runs from September 1st to August 31st each year.
1) USA HOCKEY COACH CERTIFCATION
All coaches and managers who intend to go on the bench are required to have at least their Level 1 coaching certification. If you need to obtain your coaching certification, follow the link below.
You will need your USA Hockey Card # and current Level # for registration.
2) AAU REGISTRATION
All coaches and managers who intend to go on the bench are required to obtain a Non-Athlete Membership with AAU and pass the included background check.
- Program is "Youth"
- Sport is "Hockey-Ice"
- League Code is UD74U34SP
- Buy "Enhanced Coverage"
After you apply, you'll receive an AAU Invitation for Background Screening. Complete that process.
A few days later, you'll receive your "AAU Membership Confirmation Non-Athlete - Card included" via email. Within that email, you'll receive your Membership Card with your Member ID. That is the number you'll use during registration.
3) EAST AURORA HOCKEY COACH/MANAGER REGISTRATION
When prompted to select a participant to register, select yourself OR choose + NEW PARTICIPANT and add your name and information for this coach registration.
Please complete the registration process. We need to collect this information for rostering, health, and legal purposes.
